[H.P.106/17. Mr. Edaly 27/6]

Dear Briggs,

We have been thinking about your letter of June 20th HP 106/17, inviting us to launch the making of the history of the Region as other work permits.

We are getting together a small panel of historians for the various Departments. I thought I ought to warn you, however, that a great part of it will have to be done from memory because, following on instructions previously received, a great number of the back files have been destroyed. Fortunately, there are several of us who are very old inhabitants - and I think that, between us, we should be able to produce a worthwhile document.

Yours sincerely,

[[illegible]Lowe]
