PRODUCTION OF FILMS BY THE MINISTRY .

The Film Division's proposal to produce a number of films, five-minute films and documentaries including non-theatrical subjects, has been modified on the suggestion of the D.G.

The proposal is now to produce 52 five-minute films in the year and 26 documentary ‘shorts’: 14 of the documentaries will be non-theatrical subjects.

This should be regarded as the minimum output of the Division and the necessity for additional production will be reviewed from time to time.

The requests of Government Departments, for films to be produced to their requirements will be considered individually in addition to the above where they would otherwise overweigh the output in one direction or another.

One five-minute film will be made for distribution each week; the G.P.O. Film Unit will make 12 documentaries and the non-theatrical subjects will be made by a number of different production companies.
