Draft announcement to the Press:

CO-OPERATION OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES WITH THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION

As a result of recent discussions instituted by Sir John Reith, Minister of Information, the main Political Parties have agreed to collaborate with the Ministry in the promotion of the cause of the Allies during the war. This collaboration in the national interest, will find its chief expression in the organisation of meetings designed to bring home to the public the salient facts about the present conflict.

A campaign of meetings throughout the country will shortly be opened, the chief speakers at which will be front bench members of both the Government and Opposition Parties.

The Political Parties have also agreed to co-operate in the regional organisation of the Ministry, in order to ensure that the various aspects of the allied war effort are fully appreciated by the public, and that the will to victory is strengthened and maintained.

It is hoped at an early date to publish particulars of the first series of meetings to be held.
