B.B.C. ATTITUDE TO BE ADOPTED .

The Director General referred to the capitulation of the Belgian Army. It was agreed that there should be no special broadcast before the 1 o'clock news. It was felt that it would be better at the present moment to allow the news to speak for itself. It would also be necessary to ask the War Office to give information as early as possible as to the movements of the troops now in Belgium. The importance of getting high military authorities to broadcast was again stressed and it was noted that General Mason MacFarlane's broadcast had been stopped by the War Office.

It was noted that the Minister would broadcast that night at 9 o'clock. The B.B.C. representative asked that the script should be made available as early as possible so that the news could be adjusted in accordance with the broadcast.

It was agreed to defer discussion of other items until a more suitable occasion.
