1. LORD HALIFAX'S SPEECH

The Deputy Secretary agreed to take in hand the distribution, translation etc.

2. POSITION OF MR. HILTON

It was agreed that Mr. Hilton should undertake in principle a ten minutes’ talk every day and do as much speaking for the Ministry of Information as possible. He undertook, before agreeing, to clear up the position with the B.B.C. and the War Office.

3. R.I.O'S CONFERENCE

It was stated that the Labour Party had accepted the terms of co-operation. It was decided that the visit of the R.I.Os to France should be dropped, but that efforts should be made to permit visits by provincial press representatives.

4. P.C. PAPER NO. 12. NOTE ON WAR AIMS

Noted.

5. JOINT PARTY MEETINGS

The name of Andre Siegfried was suggested as a suitable person to address joint party meetings.

6. M.I.7.

The Deputy Secretary explained the steps that had been taken to move M.I.7 to this Department.

7. GENERAL CAMPAIGN ON CIVIL DEPENCE AND A.R.P.

It was agreed that we should co-operate with Colonel Crutchley in this campaign.
