1. REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS .

2. GENERAL MARSHALL .

[M/416.]

The Board discussed the many stories in America and British newspapers suggesting that General Marshall is about to receive a new command. It was agreed that action was necessary to counteract the many mischievous reports in the anti-British press, and that guidance might be sent to the Minister in charge of Information in Washington. The Secretary was instructed to take up this matter with the Minister's Office.
