1. REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS.

2. ATLANTIC CHARTER DAY, AUGUST 14TH .

[Am/402.]

Mr. Grubb reported that the United Nations Information Board in New York had represented that, since considerable preparations are being made in America for the celebration of this anniversary, we ought not to be behindhand. It was recognised that no very great value could be extracted by our general overseas propaganda from further exploitation of the Atlantic Charter principles; but Mr. Cruikshank maintained that in the long view it was desirable to keep before the public eye several articles of the Charter which were commonly overlooked in America. The Chairman accordingly invited him to consider the best means of achieving this end and to make a recommendation.
