1. SERVICE ADVISERS REPORTS.

2. UNITED NATIONS DAY.

Mr. Grubb reported that Cairo had asked what celebrations it was proposed to hold in Britain for United Nations Day. The Chairman said that a Committee under Lord Lytton were anxious to make arrangements if the Government did not think it out of place this year. They were planning meetings which they would urge local authorities to put on. And Mr. Buxton would act as this Ministry's representative on Lord Lytton's working committee. The view of this Ministry, however, was that this was not a suitable time to put on a big show, and it was not likely that there would be any troops available for parades.
