1. REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS .

2. RELEASE OF NEWS

[/N/159/5.]

Mr. Cruikshank raised for discussion the frequent comments in America suggesting that Britain is getting priority on the release of war news. He pointed out that a great deal of mischief is being done by these statements, which in several cases have originated as a defence of O.W.I against criticisms. Mr. Cruikshank and Mr. Francis Williams were invited to enquire into the most recent of these reports, quoted in the “Daily Telegraph” today.

3. M.O.I FLIM.

[F/256/809]

Mr. Lyne reported that an organisation known as the Citizens’ Guild for Civil Defence, certain leaders of which were Pacifists, were showing an M.O.I. film on Debris Tunnelling at a meeting on October 14th. He pointed out that this appeared to lend the Ministry's support to the meeting. It was agreed that there were no grounds for cancelling permission to show the film. Mr. Gates took note of the organisation.
