1. The minutes of the meeting on 29th July were taken as read and approved. The D.G. said he had spoken to the Minister about photographs of prisoners of war.

2. The D.G. reported that he had discussed with the Minister four main questions affecting the work of the Ministry: handling of news; control of the B.B.C.; intake of information; and pruning of staff. These questions would be discussed further at the meeting on Friday, 1st August.
