The Board took note of the Foreign Office line on the rupture of diplomatic relations between the Soviet and Polish Governments. Mr. Grubb reported that the Empax services had so far eschewed any comment; and Mr. Cruikshank enquired what reply should be made to requests for guidance from B.I.S., who in his view would be well advised to avoid becoming involved in a matter not directly affecting Anglo-American relations. The Board concurred in this view and the Chairman directed that B.I.S. should be so instructed.
