1. REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS .

2. GAS PRECAUTIONS .

[CN/427]

Mr. Lyne reported that the Minister of Home Security proposed, in a speech to be delivered tomorrow, to make a statement correcting certain public misapprehensions as to the improbability of the enemy's employment of gas which had been induced by the recent relaxation in the regulations for the carrying of gas masks. He asked the Ministry's assistance in publicising this warning; which was agreed to be principally a matter for the B.B.C. and the provincial press.

3. ZIONIST CAMPAIGN IN AMERICA.

[AM/60]

The Chairman referred to a telegram from Washington describing recent developments in the campaign, which had long been carried on in America by Jewish and other organisations, on behalf of the formation of an all-Jewish Army, freer entry of Jews into Palestine, etc. The Board considered the measures proposed to meet this intensified campaign, and it was agreed that the first necessity was a fully documented brief on what had been done for the Jews by Britain and the British Commonwealth, together with material illustrating Jewish technical and industrial achievements both in Palestine under the British mandate and elsewhere as a result of British initiative. The Chairman invited Mr. Cruikshank to pursue these requirements with Reference Division, who were understood to have a considerable quantity of material already available.
