SECRET
EXECUTIVE BOARD
Friday 14th March, 1941

Present:

D.G.

D.D.G.

Sir Maurice Peterson

Lord Davidson

Sir Kenneth Clark

Mr. Radcliffe

Mr. Wellington

Mr. Gates

Mr. Waddell (Secretary)

1. The minutes of the meeting on the 11th March were taken as read and approved.

2. Government War Book on Invasion

[X/136]

The D.D.G. referred to a letter addressed to the D.G's Private Secretary by an officer in the Ministry of Home Security suggesting the compilation of a War Book defining stages and action to be taken upon them, on the lines of the War Book compiled by the Cabinet Offices for the outbreak of war. The letter gave an illustration of the type of entry which would be expected and invited the Ministry’s suggestions. The papers had been circulated in the office and it appeared that R.A.D. might suggest certain points. It was agreed that the Ministry could not make any useful contribution until the suggestions of R.A.D. had been considered.

3. Sites for Notices in the Event of Invasion

[GP/267]

Sir Kenneth Clark drew attention to the inclusion of Church notice boards among the sites on which official notices might be posted. Selection of sites for such notices was a matter for the Ministry of Home Security and it was agreed that we should represent to them the undesirability of including Church notice boards; it was also agreed that the reference to such boards should be deleted from the draft of the leaflet on invasion.
