2. CLEARING UNION WHITE PAPER .

The Board took note of the imminent publication of a White Paper on the Government's plan for a Clearing Union, and agreed that advance guidance would be desirable particularly for the Overseas Divisions. Mr. Francis Williams reported that he had already suggested to the Treasury the need for a summary version of the plan; and it was agreed that the Minister should be invited to ask Lord Keynes to ensure the speedy provision of this and later to receive a small deputation of those officers of the Ministry interested, in order to clarify any points suggested by a study of the summary.
