1. REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS

2. MAGAZINE FOR ITALY .

[GR/496/3.]

A proposal to publish a picture magazine to be circulated in the occupied areas of Italy was discussed. The Chairman said that P.W.E. wished to produce the magazine, but had found some early difficulty with the Treasury. P.W.E. proposed, therefore, that they produce it for a period of two months; and it was suggested that the Ministry might then assume responsibility. The Chairman added that the Ministry could not agree to accept control at the later stage unless the plans and standards were known and approved now. Mr. Grubb was invited to examine the proposals with Mr. O.A. Scott, Director of the European Division.

3. PUBLICITY FOR RELIEF PLANS .

[K/277.]

A request for co-operation on publicity from the section of the Board of Trade dealing with relief in liberated territories was raised by the Secretary. It was pointed out that publicity at present was uncoordinated and lacked authoritative guidance. It was suggested by the Relief section that, pending the settlement of interdepartmental arrangements for the handling of relief problems as a whole, a committee from the various interested departments should meet. The Board agreed that the Ministry should co-operate; and Mr. Grubb was asked to make preliminary arrangements.
