[X/292]

Mr. Ryan asked if any decision had followed the submission to the Cabinet of a Ministry paper on comments by the five United States Senators (see Minutes of October 9th). The Chairman informed the Board that the Government did not intend to take any major measure. It was agreed that the North American Division of the B.B.C. should receive rebuttal material from Mr. Cruikshank; and the Chairman suggested that the criticism of the British use of Middle East oil supplies was a suitable subject. Mr. Cruikshank was invited also to supply the Overseas General Division with suitable material to be used as guidance for the Latin American posts.
