1 REPORTS FROM SERVICE ADVISERS.

2 NEWS AND COMMENTARIES FOR MIDDLE EAST.

[FP/54/111]

Mr. Grubb referred to arrangements now being made for increasing and strengthening the supply of news, commentaries and articles to Cairo for the benefit of Allied troops in the Middle East, and enquired where the responsibility for this supply would lie. He explained that the technical machinery of the Middle East Section had been used in the past for small quantities of such material, but that it was clearly beyond their competence or staff to be responsible for the policy and contents of the much larger volume now contemplated. The Chairman agreed that the Middle East Section should not be required to assume these additional responsibilities, and the Board approved their being undertaken by Overseas General Division, if necessary with an additional officer to supervise the service.
