This table shows clearly that only in the group of agricultural workers are leggings worn to any appreciable extent, and in this group leather leggings were the type most frequently preferred for the work. It can be seen that a significantly lower proportion of agricultural workers were actually wearing leather leggings than the proportion who preferred them.

Of the 30 men who had tried to buy leggings since Christmas, 15 had experienced difficulty in doing so, and in 11 of these cases it was because leggings were found to be unobtainable.
